Add your accounts first
Start with what you have. That might be a current account, a savings pot, a LISA, a credit card, or all of the above. In Clearr, each one is an account with a type (asset or liability) and a current balance. Add them all — even the credit card debt. Especially the credit card debt. Your net worth only means something when it includes everything.
Set opening balances accurately
Check your actual bank balance before entering it. It sounds obvious, but people often round up or estimate, and your net worth figure will be wrong from day one. Take two minutes to open each account and copy the exact balance. If you have a 0% balance transfer card, enter the full amount owed as a negative — that's a liability.
Log your first transaction
A transaction in Clearr is any money in or out. Your salary landing. A rent payment. A coffee. Log your most recent pay day first — that gives you a baseline. Then log any significant outgoings since then. You don't need to log every coffee to start. Log what matters: rent, bills, salary, debt payments.
Watch the dashboard update
Once you've added accounts and a few transactions, your net worth card updates automatically. If the number looks wrong, check your account balances — one of them is probably off. The goal on day one isn't a perfect picture, it's an honest one.
